Moussa Diabate
Moussa Diabaté posts 11/5/1/3/1 line vs. NYK
Fri, Oct 17, 2025, 4:08 PM
Moussa Diabaté tallied 11 points (3-of-4 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, one assist, three steals and one blocked shot in Friday's loss to the Knicks.
Analysis: Hornets head coach Charles Lee alternated starting centers throughout the preseason, with Diabaté making three starts and rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner getting the other two. While Mason Plumlee (three points and three rebounds in 10 minutes) also played rotation minutes during the preseason, most of the minutes went to either Diabaté or Kalkbrenner (6/1/2/0/1 in 15 minutes). Who starts Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Nets remains to be seen. Still, Diabaté and Kalkbrenner may get most of the playing time based on the breakdown of the preseason minutes.
Collin Sexton
Collin Sexton records 21 points, 10 assists
Fri, Oct 17, 2025, 4:07 PM
Collin Sexton accounted for 21 points (6-of-9 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and five three-pointers in Friday's loss to the Knicks.
Analysis: With LaMelo Ball getting the night off, Sexton served as the Hornets' starting point guard on Friday. The results were mixed. While he did record a 20-point double-double, Sexton was also responsible for nine of the Hornets' 21 turnovers. That isn't a big deal for managers either punting turnovers or competing in eight-cat formats, but that's an area Sexton will need to clean up. Especially when considering LaMelo's injury history, there may be times during the season when the Hornets need Sexton to take on more playmaking responsibilities.
Miles Bridges
Miles Bridges scores 20 in preseason finale
Fri, Oct 17, 2025, 4:07 PM
Miles Bridges finished Friday's loss to the Knicks with 20 points (8-of-13 FGs), five rebounds and four three-pointers.
Analysis: Bridges, who only logged 18 minutes on Friday, finishes his preseason with a flourish. The Hornets forward scored 20 points or more in his final three games while shooting 26-of-47 from the field. While he isn't a lock to provide top-50 value, due mainly to inconsistent defensive production, Bridges should be a relatively safe middle-round option in standard leagues. Based on his Yahoo! ADP of 63, it's apparent that many fantasy managers view him similarly.
Collin Sexton
CHA: Collin, Kon, Miles, Moussa, Liam starting
Fri, Oct 17, 2025, 1:16 PM
Charlotte Hornets
Kon Knueppel, Liam McNeeley, Collin Sexton, Moussa Diabate and Miles Bridges will start Friday's game against the Knicks.
Analysis: For their final exhibition game, the Hornets will feature a combination of veteran and youthful players in their opening lineup. Bridges projects to be a regular-season starter, but aside from him, the rest of Friday's starting five could have a chance to make one final impression before the preseason concludes. Charlotte will have a chance to finish the preseason with more wins than losses.
Miles Bridges
Bridges pours in 29/10/5 line in preseason win
Wed, Oct 15, 2025, 3:43 PM
Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 29 points (11-of-16 FGs), 10 rebounds, five assists and five triples in a 145-116 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Analysis: Bridges scored a total of 15 points over his first two preseason games but has surpassed 20 in each of his last two. He was joined by LaMelo Ball (23) and Brandon Miller (21) in scoring at least 20 points. If all three are able to score at this rate, the Hornets will have a chance to push for a postseason spot. This was a strong night for Bridges, but he likely won't shoot quite this well during the regular season often.
Moussa Diabate
Moussa Diabate records double-double off bench
Wed, Oct 15, 2025, 3:39 PM
Moussa Diabate provided a boost off the bench with 18 points (6-of-7 FGs), 13 rebounds and one block against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Analysis: Ryan Kalkbrenner remained in the starting unit at center for Charlotte in this game, but Diabate was able to make a bigger impact off the bench. The position battle between Kalkbrenner, Diabate and Mason Plumlee is a vital one for fantasy hoops; if Kalkbrenner or Diabate gets the nod, either will be worth taking at the end of drafts. However, Plumlee won't be worth a selection, even if he plays a significant role.
Collin Sexton
Collin Sexton scores 15 points in 15 minutes
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 5:48 PM
Collin Sexton finished Thursday's loss to the Thunder with 15 points (5-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, two assists, one steal and three three-pointers.
Analysis: Sexton came off the bench and got to work quickly on the offensive end against the Thunder. Largely due to his three-point production, the veteran guard finished as one of five Charlotte players to score in double figures. He didn't have much of an impact in any other categories on Thursday, but still displayed how he could be useful for the Hornets during the 2025-26 season. Sexton could potentially begin the regular season as a reserve player.
Tre Mann
Tre Mann starts, scores team-high 18 vs. OKC
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 5:40 PM
Tre Mann totaled 18 points (7-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, two assists and four three-pointers in Thursday's game against the Thunder.
Analysis: Mann replaced Kon Knueppel in the starting lineup on Thursday and had a strong offensive showing. The fifth-year guard shot efficiently and utilized the three-point shot to leave his mark on offense. In just 23 minutes, he led all Charlotte players in scoring en route to a productive game overall. Mann is looking to have a bounce-back season after playing just 13 games for the Hornets a season ago.
LaMelo Ball
LaMelo Ball adds 15 points, four threes vs. OKC
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 5:34 PM
LaMelo Ball notched 15 points (5-of-8 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and four three-pointers on Thursday against the Thunder.
Analysis: Ball ramped up his minutes in his second preseason game. After logging 15 minutes on Sunday, he played 25 in Thursday's contest, where he tied a team-high in made threes. As a high-usage guard, Ball will have nights when he finishes with high turnover totals, as was the case on Thursday. Still, he'll be a high scorer and should rack up assists and threes on most nights, leaving him with high fantasy basketball potential in points leagues.
Tre Mann
Mann, Ball, Miller, Diabate, Bridges start vs. OKC
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 1:35 PM
Charlotte Hornets
Tre Mann, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, LaMelo Ball and Moussa Diabaté will start vs. the Thunder on Thursday.
Analysis: Mann gets the start over rookie Kon Knueppel on Thursday for the Hornets. The fifth-year guard appeared in 28 games for the Hornets during the 2023-24 season and started all of them after being acquired via trade, but didn't start in any of his 13 appearances for Charlotte last season. He recorded seven points, five rebounds and five assists in 17 minutes in Charlotte's preseason opener on Tuesday.
Tre Mann
Tre Mann (back) healthy for training camp
Mon, Sep 29, 2025, 5:47 AM
Tre Mann (back) was cleared for full basketball activities in mid-April.
Analysis: Mann's season ended on November 21 despite Charlotte not communicating an official end to his season. He had a strong start, but he wasn't healthy until just after the regular season ended. With the Hornets roster currently healthy, he'll compete with Collin Sexton for backup guard minutes, though he may not play a significant role early on.
Grant Williams
Peterson: ‘No timetable' for Williams, Green
Mon, Sep 29, 2025, 5:37 AM
Rod Boone
Hornets GM Jeff Peterson said there is “no timetable” for Grant Williams (knee) and Josh Green (shoulder).
Analysis: There were already reports that both players would miss camp, but not having any idea of when they'll be healthy is pretty typical for the Hornets. Their lack of clarity when it comes to injury reporting in recent years has been a frustration. Hopefully they'll provide a better timeline soon, but don't count on it. With Kon Knueppel in the mix now, neither Williams nor Green was likely going to start or be impactful in fantasy basketball anyway.
Grant Williams
Grant Williams (knee) expected to miss camp
Sun, Sep 21, 2025, 5:31 AM
Charlotte Observer
Grant Williams (knee) is not expected to participate in training camp at the end of the month.
Analysis: Williams tore his right ACL last November. While the veteran forward does not have a defined return timeline, it was reported recently that he has been moving well during workouts. With Charlotte trading Mark Williams (Phoenix) and Jusuf Nurki? (Utah) during the offseason, there will be room for a healthy Grant Williams to earn rotation minutes, even with the additions of Ryan Kalkbrenner and Mason Plumlee. However, that may not be enough to make Williams fantasy-relevant in standard leagues.
Josh Green
Josh Green (shoulder) expected to miss camp
Sun, Sep 21, 2025, 5:26 AM
Charlotte Observer
Josh Green (shoulder) is not expected to participate in training camp.
Analysis: Green is still working his way back to full strength after undergoing surgery in June to address instability in his left shoulder. Therefore, he is not expected to participate in training camp and has no defined return timeline. With the Hornets adding Collin Sexton via trade, Green appeared likely to come off the bench if he were guaranteed to be healthy when the season begins. Also, with the Hornets having Brandon Miller and adding two wings in the first round of this summer's draft, Kon Knueppel and Liam McNeeley, Green will face more competition for rotation minutes than he did in 2024-25.
Keyontae Johnson
Hornets sign Keyontae Johnson to Exhibit 10 deal
Thu, Sep 18, 2025, 9:40 AM
Charlotte Hornets
Hornets signed Keyontae Johnson to an Exhibit 10 contract.
Analysis: Not long after waiving DaQuan Jeffries, the Hornets added Johnson to their roster for training camp. He'll be on an Exhibit 10 deal, which guarantees the wing $85,300 if he's waived and then spends 60 days with Charlotte's G League affiliate. The 50th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Johnson has appeared in nine NBA games, all with the Thunder during the 2023-24 campaign.
Moussa Diabate
Moussa Diabaté turns down invite to rejoin France
Sun, Aug 17, 2025, 5:18 AM
BeBasket
Moussa Diabaté has turned down an invitation to rejoin France's national team for EuroBasket to focus on preparing for the upcoming NBA season.
Analysis: France's frontcourt depth took a hit when Vincent Poirier was forced to withdraw due to a right knee injury. The national team reached out to Diabaté to gauge his interest in rejoining the roster after being cut on August 8, but the 6-foot-9 power forward/center has reportedly decided to focus on preparing for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season. And this is one where the Hornets post may have his best shot at earning consistent minutes. With the Hornets trading Mark Williams to the Suns, the competition for minutes at center consists of Diabaté, veteran Mason Plumlee and second-round pick Ryan Kalkbrenner. If Diabaté can earn the starting job, he would be worth a look in the latter rounds of standard league drafts. He appeared in 71 games last season, averaging 5.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks in 18.5 minutes.
Antonio Reeves
Shams: Hornets to sign Antonio Reeves to two-way
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 9:58 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Hornets are signing Antonio Reeves to a two-way contract.
Analysis: Reeves was waived by the Pelicans on July 3 but still suited up for them during summer league. New Orleans drafted him in the second round in 2024, and now he'll get a fresh start with the Hornets. Reeves will provide some shooting off the bench in Charlotte.
Drew Peterson
Shams: Hornets sign Drew Peterson to two-way deal
Mon, Jul 14, 2025, 7:00 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Hornets have signed Drew Peterson to a two-way contract.
Analysis: After spending his first two seasons with the Celtics, Peterson is reportedly headed to Charlotte. The player and his new head coach are familiar with each other, as Hornets coach Charles Lee was a Celtics assistant during the 2023-24 season. While the change of scenery may result in more opportunities for Peterson, he is not a player to target in fantasy drafts.
Spencer Dinwiddie
Spencer Dinwiddie inks one-year deal with Hornets
Wed, Jul 2, 2025, 8:58 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Spencer Dinwiddie has agreed to a one-year deal with the Hornets.
Analysis: With D'Angelo Russell in Dallas, Dinwiddie became the odd man out in the backcourt, and he'll take on a backup role behind LaMelo Ball. Given Ball's voluminous injury history, it wouldn't be surprising if Dinwiddie played enough to make meaningful contributions for fantasy managers.
Tre Mann
Shams: Hornets sign Tre Mann to three-year deal
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 1:31 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Hornets signed Tre Mann to a three-year, $24 million deal.
Analysis: Acquired from the Thunder at the 2024 trade deadline, Mann was limited to 13 games last season due to a back injury. He did not play again after November 21 but averaged 14.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 three-pointers in 24.5 minutes. Mann can provide value off the bench as Charlotte's backup point guard when healthy. However, he's likely to be most useful in fantasy leagues next season when LaMelo Ball is unavailable due to injury.
